Christmas Already?
It's that time again to start designing holiday cards. The holiday season gets so busy that there's hardly any time to design them once the season begins. If you'd like to purchase cards from my collection stay tuned as I will be uploading designs here and on my web site.

Watercolors
During my visit this summer to the bridge I came across Mary Lou Peters' watercolors. I just loved them and loved even more that she was a local. I couldn't resist this little card. I'm on the hunt for the perfect frame for it!

Be the First Penguin
Quoted from Randy Pausch,
"...I'd present one team of students with a stuffed animal--a penguin. It was called "The First Penguin Award" and went to the team that took the biggest gamble in trying new ideas or new technology, while failing to achieve their stated goals. In essence, it was an award for "glorious failure," and it celebrated out-of-the-box thinking and using imagination in a daring way.
..."first penguin" winners were losers who were definitely going somewhere."

Mrs. Meyer
This hand soap brings me so much joy when I go to wash my hands at my kitchen sink. I have to agree with Mrs. Thelma Meyer herself, who is now 76, that it's "aromatherapeutic." I also must compliment her on her fabulous labels.

Hypertufa Pots
Back in my greenhouse days at Westview Farms mama Kay and I made hypertufa pots. We'd create fabulous plant combinations in them. I'm still in love with them. They have lasted over eight years in my garden. I love how organic they look in the garden. They compliment any plant.

Fine Tea
Not only is Harney & Sons tea fabulous it has the most amazing package design. The tea was presented to me in a large sectioned off wooden, brown box. I couldn't wait for the server to open the box. The delicate and clean color palette made every tea flavor divine. The texture of the package is smooth which clues you into the silken sachet inside. I love that it states in the bottom corner, "hand picked in spring." Who doesn't want hand picked in spring tea? I'd have to agree with their statement of "accepting only the exceptional."

Exploring Within Your Own State
No need to get on a plane this summer when you can drive as little as two hours north and have a fabulous weekend getaway. I always try to fit in two to three trips a year up there to either go wine tasting or camping.
Two wine tasting routes I highly suggest are:
The Leelanau Peninsula
and
Old Mission Peninsula
